O Design de Moda da Universidade da Beira Interior apresenta uma abordagem multidisciplinar e uma formação sólida em desenho, humanidades e cultura do design e da arte - para potenciar o pensamento e o olhar. A formação focada no projeto de moda encoraja a experimentação de materiais em oficinas e laboratórios. A preocupação com a análise do mercado viabiliza o projeto. O estudante tem, assim, o aliciante desafio de gerir a sua criatividade e inovação entre os limites da tecnologia e do mercado. O Departamento de Ciência e Tecnologia Têxteis (DCTT) da UBI assegura a Licenciatura, o Mestrado e o Doutoramento em Design de Moda, este em associação com a UM, e o Mestrado em Branding e Design de Moda em associação com o IADE-U.

Os estudantes usufruem de uma intensa ligação do DCTT/UBI ao meio empresarial da ITV.

In PORTUGAL

the initiative is focused on Lisa Maria Alpande Santos, among many actions, manages the social page of the ONG, determines volunteer activities, is the collection of donations and forwards them to missions that follow to different parts of Africa.

 

The institutional name of one of the actions that is made by the ONG, which is to produce little dresses with recycled material, giving them a second life. The dresses are in turn donated to orphanages in Africa and formulate a hopeful cycle - as well believe the ONG for its experience since 2008 when it was founded.

The Polytechnic Institute of Viseu, through its Superior Technology and Management School is one of the few institutions dedicated to the field of Furniture Design. Based on technical and scientific expertise of the Department of Wood Engineering offers vocational training and a degree in Technology and Furniture Design . The faculty is composed of specialized engineers in wood and derivatives and Designers , which ensure lecionação the two plans of study and research in the two areas.

The Research Institute for Design, Media and Culture [ID+] is a multidisciplinary research structure anchored in two institutions: University of Aveiro (Department of Communication and Art) [UA /DeCA] and University of Porto (School of Fine Arts) [FBAUP]. ID+ was created at 2007 and started its funded operation in January 2009, after external review (the visit of the international panel occurred in February 2008) who assigned the rating of ‘Very Good’.

ID+ main research activities are in the fields of Design, Media, Art and other cultural areas.

The National Museum of Costume (Museu Nacional do Traje), created in 1976, presents to the public a collection of historical costumes, garments and accessories, dating from the XVIII century to the present day, either in permanent or temporary exhibitions. The collection is housed in the Angeja-Palmela Palace with, on its grounds, the Monteiro-Mor Botanic Park.
Its purpose is to establish a strategy for the research, conservation and public exhibition of costumes and textiles. Furthermore, it has a policy of safeguarding and promoting the Monteiro-Mor Botanic Park and supporting this heritage among the community.

The Wool Museum, also known as MUSLAN, constitutes an interdepartmental Centre of the University of Beira Interior. It is an organism with financial and administrative autonomy under the tutelage of the Ministério da Ciência, Tecnologia e Ensino Superior (Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education).

The Wool Museum being part of the Portuguese Network of Museums since 2002, has the mission of preserving the patrimony related to one of the most ancient human industries, in a territory that, has Serra da Estrela as a matrix and Covilhã as a historical centre, that has soon opened up to international contacts.
